Bridging the Digital Divide: A Global Commitment

Under the leadership of Nicolas B. Maya, Volunteer Program Director from the Digital Bridge Program, the US Latino Affairs Organization (Habalamos Technologia Global Initiative) is proud to lead this initiative, demonstrating its capacity to operate within technology-focused frameworks, manage digital access, and coordinate training and community outreach to ensure equitable connectivity environments. Through structured implementation, this program addresses immediate access gaps while building long-term operational systems for digital inclusion and economic opportunity.

United States Latino Affairs Organization’s key focus areas include:

Computer Distribution: Providing hardware to underserved communities.

Educational Access: Enhancing digital access for both parents and students.

International Support: Expanding technology access across borders.

AI and Literacy: Offering introductory AI education and essential digital literacy training.

The United States Latino Affairs Organization's primary impact focus is to provide families and students with the tools, access, and knowledge required to thrive in modern education and the global digital economy.

In collaboration with the United States Latino Affairs Organization and in direct support of these goals, Tusajigwes Alliance Inc. integrates its Umoja Hubs Tech Initiative to strengthen international reach and community-driven development. Inspired by a commitment to self-reliance over transactional aid, Umoja Hubs contribute to this mission through:

Infrastructure Development: Establishing digital libraries and computer labs, such as those being deployed in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Resource Coordination: Leveraging secured donations from the United States Latino Affairs Organization, which includes 10 desktop computers and 25 laptops, to bridge the hardware gap in developing regions.

Human-Centered Technology: Utilizing AI audio technology to address educational and healthcare communication challenges within these new digital spaces.

By combining the United States Latino Affairs Organization's operational framework with the community-rooted implementation of the Umoja Hubs Tech Initiative, we are creating a sustainable pathway toward global digital equity.

These aren't just machines; they are windows into global knowledge, research tools for aspiring scholars, and training grounds for the technical skills required in the modern workforce.

Why We Need Your Help (Transparency & Budget)

While the computers have been donated, the journey from the United States to the colleges of Freetown, Sierra Leone, is a significant undertaking. To ensure these resources are handled with care and reach the students who need them most, we are raising funds for four specific areas:

Resource Areas:

Secure Shipping: International freight, customs fees, and secure packaging to ensure that the hardware arrives safely in Sierra Leone, West Africa. {anticipated cost: $1,000.00}

Ground Transport: Procurement of one reliable vehicle to transport the equipment (and future supplies) locally to all three donation sites. {anticipated cost: $500.00}

On-Site Labor: To ensure our project is woven into the local fabric, we again adopted Umoja as our guiding principle. Through this principle, we seek to hire six local Sierra Leonean laborers to lead the delivery and professional setup of the tech hubs. By placing two laborers at each site, we maximize our reach and provide a heartbeat of harmonization to our operations, proving that when we work as a collective unit, we don't just launch technology—we inspire opportunity.{anticipated cost: $600.00}

Project Oversight: Travel for one U.S.-based Tusajigwe’s Alliance, Inc. representative to oversee the container arrival and guarantee 100% delivery to the two colleges and one academy that will be Blessed with this donation. {anticipated cost: $2,900.00}
