Our community lost someone irreplaceable. Tim Receveur, director of the Supernova Alliance and the driving force behind the Supernova International Ska Festival, passed away unexpectedly. For years, Tim poured himself into building something rare, a festival that brought together ska bands and fans from across the country and around the world, and a local scene that felt like family because of how he ran it. Promoters, musicians, and fans from the international ska circuit knew Tim as someone who showed up, followed through, and genuinely cared about the artists and the community he served. His fingerprints are on every stage, every lineup, every late night making sure things came together right.
This fundraiser exists primarily to close out this year's festival.
Tim left behind vendor contracts, venue and band obligations, and other outstanding costs tied to putting on the event. We want to make sure everyone who helped bring the festival to life (bands, musicians, venue staff, vendors, local partners) is paid fairly, and that the Supernova Alliance can help close this chapter cleanly, without leaving debt behind for Tim’s family. That's the core of what this campaign is for.
Every dollar donated here helps make sure Tim's last festival is closed out the way he would have wanted: with everyone taken care of, and the community he built still standing strong. Thank you for helping us take care of the people and the mission he loved.
Once the obligations are met, any remainder will go toward helping the Alliance further the community arts mission that Tim inspired and built.
With gratitude and grief,
