On February 23, 2026, Christian County, Missouri lost a hero. At just 30 years old, Gabriel Ramirez, an Army veteran and dedicated Christian County, Missouri Sheriff’s Deputy, was fatally shot in the line of duty while serving and protecting others.
Gabriel was more than a badge and a uniform. He was a father, a husband, a son, a friend — and most importantly, he was the proud dad of a sweet 3-year-old little boy who adored him.
Behind the scenes, life hadn’t always been easy. Like many young families, they had been struggling to make ends meet. Although Cara and Gabe were navigating marital challenges, there was always love there. They were together for 6 years and were still a family. They were still showing up for their little boy. And now, in an instant, everything has changed.
Cara is now facing the unimaginable — grieving the loss of the father of her child while stepping into the overwhelming reality of raising their son alone. Along with the heartbreak comes financial uncertainty: funeral expenses, daily living costs, childcare, and the long road ahead without his income and support.
We are asking for help to lift some of that burden.
Every donation will go directly towards any:
• Funeral and memorial expenses
• Immediate living expenses
• Support for their 3-year-old son’s care and future
• Providing stability during this devastating transition for his whole family
No amount is too small. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping this family in your prayers.
Gabriel served his country as an Army veteran and continued that service in his community as a Sheriff’s Deputy. Now it’s our turn to serve his family.
No matter your personal views in life, no family should ever face this kind of tragedy. Let’s come together to honor his life, his sacrifice, and the little boy who will grow up knowing his daddy was a true hero.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
