With a heavy heart, I share the devastating loss of a dear friend, Irvin Castillo—a devoted husband, loving father, a US Navy Veteran and someone I was lucky to call a brother. On Saturday, February 1st, Irvin lost his battle with mental illness, leaving behind his incredible wife, Hanna, and their beautiful 4 month old son, Renlen.

Irvin was one of the hardest-working people I knew. He did everything he could to provide for his family, always putting their needs above his own. No matter what he was going through, his love for Hanna and Renlen never waivered. It breaks my heart that he wasn’t able to overcome his struggles, but I know his deepest wish would be for his family to be taken care of.
