Honor Erin Thomas ~ Supporting CPA Swim Program

All funds from this effort will go to support CPA swimmers and swim program.

Coach Erin Biegel began her swim career in childhood and became a shining as a star on the swim team multiple years at the IL HS State Championships and 3 year All-American. She helped set a national relay record, held state records, and still holds local pool records. She competed at the national level in collegiate Division I while at ASU where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance.

 

Erin was everything about swimming, and lifelong friendships gained through summer leagues, clubs, HS, ASU and her Masters Team. A natural athlete throughout her life, she called herself a sprinter and had such power and quickness, reclaiming glory with multiple top 10 finishes at 3 Masters Nationals. Her deep excitement and love of swimming continuously renewed her spirit. Though she left the world too soon this year, it was her wish that this spirit would continue to serve the students she so loved coaching in the Chandler Prep Middle & High School teams.

 

She knew how to swim fast, coach winners, and how a meet should be run properly, and lived by her favorite sayings: "show up," and "do what you say," meaning, show up (at practice, at life) and get the work done.

 

It was Erin's wish before her passing, that a fund be set up to grow, strengthen, and serve the athletes in the Chandler Prep swim program. To find great facilities, to support students in travel and expenses to participate, and to make sure the program was sustained. Her husband Mark and close friends will ensure the funds will be spent to make this possible. Every dollar given, minus the GiveSendGo fee, will go straight to student and swim program support at Chandler Prep. There will be no administration fees - support and time for this will be donated by friends and volunteers.

 

Erin's family and friends are grateful for the support for her dream and to share in the future how these funds made a difference for the athletes. Liz has been active in the school community for over 8 years on parent service orgs and in outreach efforts from GH. She will be distributing all funds from this fundraiser to the family for scholarships. Mark and the family will use every dollar to support CPA swimmers and the program.
