Help Bring Chef Zulu Home to Ladysmith, South Africa

In May 2025, our beloved Chef Zulu’s life changed forever when he was diagnosed with a sudden and severe heart condition. For six long months, he fought with incredible courage and strength, clinging to hope despite the odds. Sadly, on November 3, 2025 Chef Zulu lost his battle.

What makes this loss even more heartbreaking is that his family never got the chance to say goodbye. Due to strict U.S. visa restrictions, his loved ones in South Africa were unable to visit him during his illness. They could only send prayers and words of comfort from thousands of miles away, while Chef Zulu faced this fight alone in Florida.

Now, his family’s greatest wish is to bring Chef Zulu home, to Ladysmith, the town where he grew up, so they can lay him to rest next to his mother, where he belongs. This is not just about a funeral; it’s about giving his family the closure they were denied and honoring Chef Zulu’s life in the place he called home.

We are asking for your help to make this possible. The costs of repatriating a loved one are overwhelming, and his family cannot bear this burden alone. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward transporting Chef Zulu back to South Africa and covering the necessary arrangements.

Chef Zulu was a son, a brother, a friend, a soul full of kindness and laughter, and a talented chef who touched lives through his food and his heart. His absence leaves a void that words cannot fill.
