Help us honor William Joseph Zito- Burial Fund
Donation protected
We are here to raise money for a celebration of life for my father William Joseph Zito.
We were raising money to hold services for him in Riverside, California. He was in the military but he doesn't qualify for services at the National Cemetery due to being in the reserves and only 6 months active duty. Hoping to give him the burial with the honor and respect he deserves. My siblings cannot afford to bury him and that cost has fallen to me. Any help anyone can do would be greatly appreciated.
My father and I spoke weekly. we would catch up on each others day and week, talk about life, grandkids and sometimes randomness. When I had my concussion several years ago my dad was the only one who called me every other day to check on me and to make sure I remembered he was my dad :) He had suffered a stroke back in 2012 and understood the importance of a brain injury and the healing benefit of constant conversation. Hence why he would always call and ask during my recovery... "hey its your dad... remember me?"
He loved his family and his grandkids. He was the biggest John Wayne fan on the planet and was happy spending his free time in the desert shooting and being a cowboy. He and my brother spent alot of time in the desert. They both felt so at home out there together.
He lived to be 85 and towards the end of his life his mobility became more limited and unable to enjoy any outings in the desert. He had several procedures the last 2 years of his life that greatly improved his eyesight, circulation and overall health. This last surgery was heart surgery which was very successful, however, he contracted covid in rehab and ultimately weakened him which caused heart failure and lung failure. He put up a strong hard fight.
I understand funds are tight for everyone but anything you can do to help us get closer to helping us lay him to rest with Honor and Respect would be greatly appreciated. Services are pending until we can raise the funds to do so.
