Help with Wendy’s final wishes and funeral arrangements
Donation protected
Wendy is home with us and receiving hospice care. Her mother and brothers and I tend to her as she needs assistance in and out of bed, using the bathroom and walking. She tires easily and sleeps most of the day. She battles with pain and still manages to smile and say she’s sorry and thank you for helping her. Imagine that, she says she’s sorry. I wish you all could know her like we do. Pure unadulterated love and innocence. I’m not sure she’s completely aware of her condition or what hospice care means but that could be a blessing. I sure hope so.
Wendy Kleckner, at age 52, has been a sweetheart all her life. She is sweet, kind, and has never lost her childlike innocence, having been born with cerebral palsy. Her default is a glowing smile and to find the positives in all life. She has been immune to all the pressures of the world that seem to weigh us down and always finds joy in the world around her. She is a complete ray of sunshine. She has no inhibitions and can walk up to perfect strangers and start the most pleasant conversations. Most of her time is spent watching TV or on her phone with friends. She enjoys Disney, cartoons, and teenage sitcoms. Her baby doll named Wendy is with her all the time and treated like her own child. She has a cat named Richie that receives her love constantly. She lives with her grandmother and mother, who is her primary caregiver.
Care for Wendy has been difficult as she has been struggling with ovarian cancer for several years, and now it has spread to her liver and is no longer treatable. She has been given a brief period of time and we are trying to raise funds to honor Wendy’s last wishes.
