A Devastating Loss
On August 20, 2025, Ernest Taylor returned home from a painting job to an unimaginable tragedy: his beloved wife of 35 years, 71-year-old Wanda Taylor, had been attacked and murdered inside their National City home. He found her under a blanket, in a pool of blood, and came face-to-face with a stranger—later identified as 30-year-old Noel Trevino—pacing and mumbling incoherently in their house. Ernest immediately called 911, and Trevino was arrested shortly thereafter following a brief foot chase.
Wanda was a dedicated wife and friend to many, a professional who served the San Diego Unified School District, supporting special needs students and teen mothers. Beyond her career, she was kind, thoughtful, and a loving presence in the lives of her family and community. Together with Ernest, she shared a passion for local theater and was deeply embraced—“loved from the East Coast to the West Coast.”
Ernest is now not only grieving the immeasurable loss of his soulmate but also facing emotional turmoil and the uncertainty of the months ahead. Your support will help:
• Cover immediate expenses, including funeral and memorial arrangements.
• Support Ernest emotionally and financially, as he processes this trauma.
• Keep Wanda’s spirit alive—by honoring her generosity, kindness, and love for family and community.
