Honor Vietnam Veterans with Jacob's Choir Trip
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jacob Cicora. I am an eighth grader from Haysville Middle School. I have set up this Go Fund Me to fund a choir trip I have been selected to attend by the director.
The trip's main purpose is to honor and recognize Vietnam Veterans at the 51st annual Vietnam Veterans Parade and Ceremony. This event will take place in Waikiki, Hawaii. I am excited for this opportunity because many people I know (both of my great grandpas on my mom’s side) served in Vietnam during the war and I want to honor the other men and women who served in some capacity during the war.
The total cost for my part of the trip is $3000 and I am hoping to fund 50%-75% of my total fee. I know that $3000 is hard to come by and is pretty steep. On top of this Go Fund Me I am doing fundraisers that the school will sponsor, yard work around the neighborhood, and helping other people who need help with various tasks. I am determined to raise funds for this trip.
The $3000 includes: food, hotel, and sightseeing adventures along the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor. My great grandfather served in WWII. I never got the chance to talk to him before his dementia and Alzheimer’s kicked in. But even though I never got the chance to talk to him I understood what all the brave and valiant soldiers sacrificed for this country we have today. On top of seeing the memorial we have the opportunity to sing on the Battleship Missouri. This will be an eye opening experience for us who are attending the trip. We will get to sing the National Anthem on the battleship and get a tour on it. So on top of all of this I get the chance to experience the difference of food and clothing and other things in Hawaii.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and willingness to give to this cause. Any money that I get after I meet the required amount to go will be donated to other choir students via those who donate and to other Veterans Organization. Thank you again and God loves you all
