Help Honor Veteran Bill D.

Bill served proudly in the Marines and lived a long life devoted to helping others. We are seeking $1,700 to cover final expenses, including funeral home services and required fees.

Bill loved going to church, strolling through Barnes & Noble, enjoying Braum’s ice cream, and spending time at Lake Overholser. We hoped he would make it to 100—he was active and full of energy right up to the end. During his final nine days, hospice cared for him in our home, where he remained surrounded by love and comfort.

Bill was not your typical 96-year-old. He wanted to get out every single day and often joked that he was “claustrophobic.” When driving became too difficult about four years ago, we began taking him out daily. He soon considered us family and moved in with us. We feel incredibly grateful to have shared those years with him.

Because Bill arrived without any personal paperwork, making end-of-life arrangements has been challenging. We are committed to moving forward with positivity and honoring him well. We also want to honor the wonderful people and organizations who cared for him by paying all costs promptly.
