Honoring Tony: Support Sue’s 29029 Everesting Challenge

As many of you know, the Hinojosa Family lost Tony seven years ago 10/18/2017, after an 18-month battle with esophageal cancer. This day has always been bittersweet for us, a reminder of the love we shared and the strength we've had to find in each other since his passing.

Over the past seven years, Brendan and I have leaned on one another, reminding ourselves that we can face hard things. Through the grief, we’ve learned resilience and the importance of honoring the memory of those we love.

This year, I’ve been praying about how to honor Tony, and after much reflection, I’ve decided to take on the 29029 Everesting Challenge in October of 2025. This challenge will push me physically and mentally, but it feels like a fitting way to celebrate Tony's spirit and the strength he inspired in us.

From October 23-26, 2025, I will join a group of fellow participants to hike up Stratton Mountain, 1750 ft, 1.35 miles, 17 hikes, 22.4 miles covered. https://29029everesting.com/products/stratton-2025

striving to reach the elevation of Mount Everest by completing multiple ascents. This endeavor is more than just a hike; it's a journey of love, remembrance, and resilience.

Registration opens on November 11, 2024, and the total cost of the Challenge is $5,195, which covers my travel and stay. I’m reaching out to you, my friends and family, for support. Any contribution, big or small, will help me honor Tony’s legacy and remind myself—and all of us—that we can indeed do hard things.
