With the utmost regret, my best friend and was like my big brother was killed this morning by an Amtrak train off of Hwy 61. I just can't understand or fathom what has happened. Feeling like I'm in a bad dream, a nightmare. He was the best and treated everyone he met like gold. Not a hateful or unkind bone in his body. He cared for his friends and animals, mostly cats, with great generosity. He went around and worked hard and spent all his money on feeding feral cat colonies.

I'm trying to raise money for his kitties that are left behind after his passing and money to help with paying some of other exspenses.All the kitties were like his very own children.They would eat before he got himself food..He was a Christian and he rode a bicycle everywhere he went,usually you could tell it was him because he had grocery style bags tied up on each side of handlebars and a jug lof water

I'm sure everyone in West Ashley has seen him and many have met him personally. He had been helping out these cats for over 30 years at least feeding them and taking care of them through all sorts of weather. His name was Tom Dixon, some called him RED because of his red hair.Others called him Bicycle man,Catman,Tom Cat,Tom Tom and even some reffered to him as The Legend. Please help out. He was my best friend/brother from another other and we were so very close and he treated me so very nice.I can't believe this has happened and I appreciate any donations. I hope and pray the community will donate. This is a great cause. Thank you all and God Bless.

Hello everyone. Hope you all are doing well. Have been so worried and can not even get any sleep at all. He lived and stayed with me pretty much all the time (every afternoon and night)and he meant the world to me. He was such a hard working, caring, and an honest soul. Thank yyou all for the donations and the money from it will be going for cat food and supplies along with other vet bills/expenses that we owed that needs to be paid. He wanted his cats to be taken care of and they meant the world to him. They will be taken care of. All of them including the ones right here where he stayed 5 cats that are around me daily that were some of his favorites ones on the property.They miss him so badly to. Makes us so sad.

Again thank you all that have shared and donated.If couldn't donate anything that's very understandable to.

This latest tragedy has been so hard on so many of our friends.

The picture here is of Ms Kitty. She been with Tom along time,at least 10 to 13 years. She has had to go to the vet and will be needing a surgery for some growths that need to be removed.
