In Memory of Our Beloved Fidel A. Parra

Fidel Antonio Parra

Dear family and friends, this information/campaign is written on behalf of the Parra Family, with their consent to share the sad news that we recently lost our beloved Fidel, a pillar to those close to him. A product of our Lennox community, Fidel was a son, brother, father, uncle and an amazing friend who is being mourned by all those he touched.
Fidel was born in Los Angeles and raised in Lennox, CA. Being homegrown, he attended Jefferson Elementary School, Lennox Middle School and then Hawthorne High School. He loved sports, baseball in particular. From a young age he was enrolled in the Lennox Little League (LLL) where his foundation started. In the trivial times of his youth, he found an escape in the game of baseball. His love for the game and his community came full circle, when as an adult he positively contributed to the lives of numerous youths in Lennox not only as a coach but also an umpire for LLL and even throughout District 37. He donated his time and knowledge of the game to anyone who wanted to learn or simply wanted to talk. And talk he could.
He could talk to a stranger and you would think they knew each other for years. That was Fidel, he was welcoming and made you feel comfortable under any circumstance. Always making himself accessible when needed and never expecting anything in return. A generous man, affectionate and sincere, thinking of others above all. Fidel loved his community, friends and family; and was someone who would take the shirt off of his back for you. He was never afraid to share his love toward you and his genuineness always warmed your heart. Fidel was a beautiful human being full of life with an immeasurable abundance of love.
Thank you in advance to the many who have inquired on how they can help. Any donations would be welcomed to assist in the pending funeral services. We love Fidel and wanted to assist the Parra family in this emotional and difficult time. Donations/contributions will be directly received by the Parra Family and ask that you share the unfortunate news with those who knew Fidel.
Fidel was taken from us too soon, he will be dearly missed and will live in our hearts forever. Qué en paz descanses nuestro querido Fidel y que dios te tenga en él cielo.
[Update 4/6 at 4:30pm: The Parra family is currently looking into potential dates for Fidel's memorial service. Unfortunately this unexpected expense is overwhelming and more than initially anticipated, hence our re-evaluation. Thank you again to all donors, for your generosity, kind thoughts and words of encouragement.]
