The family of Jose Calixtro Richarte “Jojo” would like you to know that his work here on earth is done. On the evening of May 26th, Jojo took his final breath as he was surrounded by his family and friends. He was called from the heavens to compete his final assignment. This is assignment came with a huge sign-on bonus…a reunion with family and friends whom he has not seen in quite some time.
His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where dark humor, singing, dancing, and rocking out to until one’s heart is content are all welcome. Music, laughter and unconditional love are guaranteed. Flawless haircuts are admired, and clean low-top white sneakers are a must! His days will be spent surrounded by children whom he felt were ALL blessings to be cherished and he did so as if each one was his own.
Surely, Jojo never knew his life’s journey would play out this way, but we all know that he is comfortably planted in the best seat in the house with 100 percent control of the TV remote and watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers from the most spectacular view imaginable.
Jojo had an unwavering sense of adventure and zest for life. He spent 15+ years lovingly coordinating care for the Keck Foundations transplant recipients. He experienced firsthand the joy, difficulties, uncertainty and delicate balance associated with transplantation.
As Jojo begins his new chapter in heaven, he leaves behind his beloved children Raymond, Ruben, Reanna and Joseph. He is survived by his parents, siblings and a large extended family and friends that cared for him deeply.
With your help, Jojo’s family will be able to cover his hospital care, final medical expenses and most importantly the ability to lay him to rest with the pride and dignity that he deserves.
Thank you.
