Hello dear friends and family.. As most of you know, on November 19 our mother, Teresa Tetrick, had a very severe seizure after her second dose of chemotherapy, which ultimately resulted in an anoxic brain injury.. For the past two and a half weeks, we have been sitting on the edge of our seats, hoping and praying for even the slightest bit of improvement.. But even with all the hopes and prayers, when God has decided to call someone home, we have to let his will be done, even though we can’t even begin to comprehend why..

With our mother being a respiratory therapist, she’s seen a lot throughout her career. She made us promise to never send her to a nursing home and to never allow her to live in a vegetated state. What kind of daughters would we be if we didn’t honor her wishes out of selfishness? We have been told that there’s is merely a 1% chance that she will ever regain consciousness and right now the only thing we should really take into consideration is her quality of life, as she will be in a vegetative state for the rest of her life. So as hard as it has been to make such a profound decision, we have decided we would much rather have our mama with us in spirit than carry on with our lives knowing she’s stuck living the lowest quality of life..

Our mama lived a very fulfilling life.. She experienced so much in her 66 years.. She loved like no other. She could be the absolute sweetest soul, but she’d also light a fire under your bottom if you weren’t acting right. She was very well respected throughout her career and she worked her tail off to ensure we had everything we ever needed.. Mama loved all things Mother Nature, she’d be the first one to point out a whippoorwill or find a rock with a hole in it, even though it was mixed among a million other rocks.. She had a keen eye for things like that.. She loved to go camping, which is where our love for it comes from too. Some of our fondest childhood memories are from camping with her, catching fireflies and going fishing.. I could go on and on about her and all the memories she gave us.. She was an amazing woman. We are so blessed that God chose her to be our mom and we will strive to be as much like her as we possibly can so she can continue to live through us and our children.

We’re making this go fund me in hopes to give her a memorial she deserves and to honor her life the best way we know how. Mom wanted to be cremated and that alone is gonna cost close to 1,500.00 Mom was retired and on disability and my sister and I don’t have the excess money to fall back on, especially this time of year, as this was completely unexpected. Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Any donations left will be used to buy her 5 grandbabies Christmas presents from her. They will go under the tree with “Love, Memaw” because I know how badly she wanted to spoil her grandbabies.. This is especially hard on them, they miss her so much.

Lastly, we just want to thank you all. You all have shown us and our mom an insurmountable amount of support, just by calling or messaging us to check on mom and send us your prayers.
