Help Lay Taswala Williams to Rest with Dignity
️ Sunrise: 7/1/1975 – Sunset: 7/3/2025
On her 50th birthday, Taswala Williams was the victim of a brutal and senseless act of violence. She was attacked in the City of Flint—sexually and brutally assaulted, and left with fatal injuries. After being rushed to Hurley Hospital and having emergency surgery, she was declared brain dead and taken off life support on July 3, 2025.
Our family is heartbroken and unprepared for this unimaginable loss. We are asking for your help to cover the cost of her funeral and burial, so we can lay her to rest with the love, dignity, and peace she so greatly deserves.
Taswala was born and raised in Flint and graduated from Northwestern High School. She worked hard throughout her life in light industrial jobs and as a hairstylist, using her hands to care for others in every way she could. She was the mother of five children—three of whom have heartbreakingly passed before her.
Her life was full of music, dancing, laughter, and love. She enjoyed beach days, cookouts, and opening her home to family and friends. She was a woman of deep faith, a devoted sister, and someone whose compassion and kindness never wavered, even in the face of loss and hardship. After the death of her first daughter to spinal meningitis, she faced ongoing mental health struggles, but her beautiful spirit always shone through.
She had a gift for cleanliness, organization, and memory, able to recite all 50 states in alphabetical order even in recent years. She smiled often, loved deeply, and never wanted to see anyone else in pain. Her heart was generous and her presence unforgettable.
Please help us give Taswala the farewell she deserves. Any donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to laying her to rest with care and love.
