Honor Rusty Harpe: Support His Family's Future

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Rusty Harpe on April 14th, 2025. Rusty was a larger-than-life figure in Teton Valley known for his incredible work ethic, his big heart, and his dedication to helping others. He was a true pillar of our community.

Rusty leaves behind his loving wife, Chelsi, and their three children—Colt (16), Wesson (8), and Kimber (9). He was not only a devoted husband and father, but also a hardworking business owner and a friend to many.

For years, Rusty worked at Action and most recently ran his own excavation company, DSD Excavation. Whether he was digging foundations, fixing water lines, installing septic tanks, plowing subdivisions, or pulling fiber to homes, Rusty touched countless lives in the valley. His presence in our community was larger than life—he always had a way of making things better and brighter.

Rusty was the kind of person who made the world a better place with his big smile, his willingness to help, and his infectious sense of humor. If you ever had the pleasure of working with him, or even just crossing paths with him at O’Rourke’s, Provisions, the rodeo grounds, or the 4th of July parade, you know how much he was loved.

In this difficult time, we are asking for your support to help his family with funeral and celebration of life expenses, medical bills, and to ensure they can continue to live and thrive here in Teton Valley—the place Rusty called home.
