Honor Roger Goe: Fund the Future Civil Servants Scholarship

I am Amanda Goe, a School Counselor in Seminole County, Florida. My father, Roger Goe, spent over 20 years serving Americans. First, as Military Police in the Air Force and then as an Alaska State Trooper. Growing up he instilled in me the importance of civic duty and being a voice for the voiceless. It is no doubt the single greatest factor in my decision to become an educator. Those who had the privilege of knowing him personally, or professionally, know that he set the standards of duty and professionalism. He was also the most generous person you could meet, having given more to others than people will ever truly know.

Since his passing in 2018 I have been looking for a way to commemorate his legacy. In my unique position as an educator I recognize the current need for trained public servants (law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, educators, nurses and military service members). To help prospective civil servants I have decided to establish the Roger Goe Civil Service Scholarship.

Funds from this scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in Seminole County, Florida that are pursuing a career in public service as a means to help offset costs associated with education, licensing, or relocation.
