URGENT: Help Us Save a Disabled Veteran’s Home!

We’re rallying for Robert Jack Minteer, an 81-year-old Disabled Veteran in crisis.

Robert served 20 years in the U.S. Army, including combat in Vietnam, and supported NATO efforts in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. After retiring, he selflessly dedicated 7 years as a volunteer EMT and Fireman in Mississippi.

His Story:

Fourteen years ago, Robert relocated to Mississippi and used his life savings to buy a double-wide mobile home. He leased land at 326 Road 1581, Tupelo, from a neighbor who owned 14 acres. Over the years, he transformed the property—clearing debris, removing a dangerous squatter house (used as a meth lab), and turning it into a safe, developed home.

The Crisis:

In August 2024, Robert mailed his annual lease payment as usual, but the check was never cashed. When he inquired, he learned the landowner had passed away. Her daughter, the heir, sent an eviction notice demanding he vacate in 30 days (by March 2025). Moving his home is impossible—no affordable land exists nearby, and the heir demands $7,000/acre (over $30,000 total) to buy the quarter-acre his home sits on.

Legal Roadblocks:

Robert’s attorney, Thomas McElroy, has been slow to act despite receiving all necessary documents. Recent surgery has delayed progress further, leaving Robert feeling overlooked as time runs out.

We Can’t Let Him Lose Everything.

At 81, with disabilities, Robert has nowhere to go. He doesn’t even know about this fundraiser—we’re organizing it to surprise him with the support he deserves.
