On April 25, 2026, our family lost Robert Dempsey in a tragic line of duty accident while he was serving others as an Emergency Response Technician on the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART) with the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration. Robert was responding to help keep others safe when his life was taken far too soon.
Robert was a proud Navy veteran, a devoted son, a loving brother, a loyal partner, and most importantly, a deeply dedicated father to his two year old son, Griffin. Everything Robert did was rooted in service, sacrifice, and love, and Griffin was the light of his life.
This fundraiser has been created to support Griffin and help provide the future Robert would have worked tirelessly to give him.
Funds raised will be used to support Griffin’s immediate and long term needs, including:
• Education and college savings
• Childcare and daily support
• Health and wellness needs
• Activities, sports, and childhood opportunities
• Long term financial security and stability
Robert spent his life protecting others, first in the United States Navy, then serving the people of Maryland. Now we have the opportunity to stand behind the child he loved most.
No donation is too small, and every act of kindness will make a lasting difference in Griffin’s life. If you are unable to contribute, please consider sharing this page. All funds will be deposited into an account managed by Robert’s mother, Anita, for the sole benefit of Griffin’s future needs and education.
