My name is Mike Ramos, I was Rob's long time coworker, but far more importantly, Rob was my best friend. I am hoping to raise funds to offset the cost of his unexpected and untimely death for his beautiful wife Sarah and the rest of the Schoffstall family.
Anyone who knew Rob knew that he was one of the best people to have ever graced this planet. He loved with every ounce of his big stature, he cared for others with a passion unmatched and his friendship was equivalent to having a treasure chest that never emptied.
The most important thing in the world to Rob was his amazing wife Sarah. When they met, from the beginning, it could be seen by any and everyone that they were soulmates and would be together forever. Unfortunately for them both, forever came FAR too soon and Rob and Sarah had just only last month (September 2025) celebrated their 1 year anniversary. Rob and Sarah did not even get to go on their dream honeymoon together to Ireland as he was taken from her so suddenly.
Rob also was an invaluable member to the Hennepin County Medical Center Security Team where he dedicated 18 years of selfless service to the department and to the people of Hennepin County. Rob was an officer, Field Trainer, Bike Patrol member and, most importantly, a friend to all that he worked with. Having spent 13 years working with Rob, I have personally been saved from terrible injuries or worse thanks to Rob's either brawn, his brain or his skills. I know that I am not the only one who can say that either. There are countless other members of the Hennepin County community that Rob has personally saved their lives.... not metaphorically, but literally.
Overall, knowing Rob's love for dogs, I can equate his life to that of a dogs. Far too short, but always in the moment, always loving anyone that will show love towards him, always excited to see you if you were someone that he loved and definitely always down to lay on the couch in front of the fireplace and take a nap. I know the heavens have gained another star with his passing, but none of them will be as bright without Rob's presence on earth. May you rest in eternal peace, brother, and forever watch over those from the heavens like you did while on earth. You are loved, you are honored, you are missed more than words can say and you will be, forever.
