Honor Rex Metz: Help with Memorial Costs
Donation protected
Hello, it's Johnnie Metz, Rex's youngest and the sole survivor of my father.
On January 15th, 2025, in the mid-morning, Rex, being bedridden for 3 months and in a hospice in Winnetka, CA, asked his nurse to assist him in getting out of bed and to sit up in a chair. After the nurse and her aide accomplished this, she turned to make his bed, at which she heard Rex say, "Camera ready," in a weak but confident voice. She turned, and Dad was gone.
My father was the "King of 2nd Unit." In his 50-year career, he worked on or was involved with over 257 films, videos, or prints. If you are reading this and you knew my father, Mr. Rexford L. Metz A.S.C., then you know how he enhanced your life and the lives of others you are associated with.
At The Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary, I would like to place Daddy with his beloved Alex Hennesy. My great gift to my father was to overcome decades of mental health issues. The greatest smile I ever saw on his beautiful face was when he came to live in an apartment we remodeled for him here in Hawthorne, CA.
And I was able to show him the benefits of overcoming my mental health issues.
Due to decades of over-prescribed psych meds and life as a senior citizen in CA, his insurance and my income cannot do this without your help.
