On June 21, 2025, 9-year-old Rashad Jackson was fishing with his paternal grandmother and cousin. Somehow, Rashad slipped and fell 10 feet and landed in the body of water beneath the platform he was standing on. Rashad’s 26-year-old cousin, Stephon Gardner, jumped in with the intention of rescuing Rashad. This incident took place between 4:30-4:45 pm on Saturday evening. Both Rashad & Stephon’s remains were recovered Sunday morning.
