We are raising funds to sponsor two Maharishi Yagyas and Vedic memorial services for our dear friend and Purusha brother Randy Lee Dietrich, a member of the Maharishi Purusha Program, who passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Mesquite, Nevada, USA.
We all remember Randy as a bright light who was fun to be around and who brought joy and bliss to everyone he met. Randy was deeply devoted to Maharishi and his teachings to bring peace and harmony to the world, and he was fully committed to his daily practice of all of Maharishi’s programs to foster the full development of human consciousness. We wish to have these Maharishi Yagyas performed for Randy to support his ongoing journey on the path of evolution to complete enlightenment.
Here are a few highlights of Randy’s life journey, both before and after he connected with Maharishi and the TM movement.
• Randy grew up in the town of Van Horne, Iowa, population 500.
• In high school Randy pitched a no-hitter for his school’s baseball team, played saxophone in a jazz band, and played the role of Colonel Pickering in a school production of “My Fair Lady.”
• Randy learned to practice Transcendental Meditation in Iowa City in 1971. This was the beginning of his life-long interest in the Vedic wisdom that His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was bringing to the world.
• Randy graduated from the University of Iowa in 1971 with a degree in Social Work and Psychology. For the next three years he worked as a counselor in high schools in Wichita, Kansas.
• In 1974 Randy attended a TM teacher training course in Bad Kissingen, Germany, completing his training in February, 1975. Then he returned to Wichita to teach TM full-time, 1975-1976.
• He attended an Age of Enlightenment Governor Training Course in Arosa, Switzerland in 1976, and then completed an Advanced AEGTC in Weggis, Switzerland, September 1977.
• From 1977 to 1979 Randy taught advanced TM courses at TM movement facilities in Fairfield, Iowa, and Cobb Mountain, California, including two TM teacher training courses, three Science of Creative Intelligence courses, and more than 50 TM-Sidhi Prep courses.
• Served as Vice-President of Sidha Corporation International, based in New York City, 1979-1980.
• Member of the Manhattan Vedic Atom, 1980-1981.
• In 1981 and 1982, Randy participated in several projects teaching TM in India, including projects in Mumbai, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.
• Taught more than 1,000 people to practice Transcendental Meditation during his years of TM teaching activities.
• Joined the Maharishi Purusha Program in Boppard, Germany, in April 1982. For the next 18 years Randy participated in Purusha projects in many locations in the USA and around the world, including Washington, D.C.; Livingston Manor, New York; Fairfield, Iowa; Boone, North Carolina; Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, and India.
• In April 2001 Randy joined the Purusha group at Kunsi Ashram, Uttarkashi, India, where he resided for the next 21 years.
• In March 2022, Randy returned to the USA due to health reasons, where he lived in close proximity to his brother and sister-in-law.
Our fundraising goal is $9,000. This will cover the cost of both Maharishi Yagyas recommended for departed souls, and Vedic memorial ceremonies that are being performed for Randy in Uttarkashi. If we raise more than our goal, the additional funds will be used for planting trees or other beautification projects at Maharishi Ashram-Kunsi in memory of Randy.
