In Loving Memory of My Father Pedro M. Toro Supporting "Vista Adult Daycare"

Held a very special place in my father’s heart. For the remainding years of my dads life it became his second home or as he liked to call it, “his new office.”

At Vista, my father spent five beautiful days a week teaching, helping others, dancing, singing, reading poetry, calling out bingo numbers, and sharing laughter with his friends. It wasn’t just a place to spend the day it was a place where he felt valued, alive, and surrounded by love.

Unlike larger centers such as Leon or Cano, Vista Adult Daycare is a small, family-like community serving around 40 seniors. Their budget is limited, but their hearts are immense. The care, compassion, and joy they provide each day make an incredible difference in the lives of so many just as they did for my father.

In his memory, I’ve decided to volunteer my time at Vista to give back to the place that gave him so much happiness. However, I know that time alone isn’t enough to help them overcome their financial challenges.

That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe to support Vista Adult Daycare in continuing their mission of care, companionship, and dignity for our seniors. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help sustain the programs and staff that bring comfort and purpose to so many lives.

This fundraiser is a tribute to my father’s joy, his generosity, and the community that became his home away from home.

Thank you for helping me honor his memory by keeping Vista’s doors open for others who, like him, find a second family there.

I am Pedro Toro's son Felipe S. Toro and can attest with my own eyes how beautifully treated my dad was at the Center.

They bent over backwards and accomodated my dad never treating him as one of the seniors but as an actual helper. My dad was the star of the center.

En memoria de mi padre, Pedro M. Toro, apoyando a "Vista Adult Daycare"

Vista Adult Daycare, ubicada en: 7941 NW 2nd St, Miami, FL 33126

Ocupó un lugar muy especial en el corazón de mi padre. Durante el resto de su vida, se convirtió en su segundo hogar, o como a él le gustaba llamarlo, "su nueva oficina".

En Vista, mi padre pasaba cinco hermosos días a la semana enseñando, ayudando a los demás, bailando, cantando, leyendo poesía, cantando números de bingo y compartiendo risas con sus amigos. No era solo un lugar para pasar el día, era un lugar donde se sentía valorado, vivo y rodeado de amor.

A diferencia de centros más grandes como León o Cano, Vista Adult Daycare es una comunidad pequeña y familiar que atiende a unas 40 personas mayores. Su presupuesto es limitado, pero su corazón es inmenso. El cuidado, la compasión y la alegría que brindan cada día marcan una diferencia increíble en la vida de muchas personas, tal como lo hicieron con mi padre.

En su memoria, he decidido ofrecer mi tiempo como voluntario en Vista para retribuir al lugar que le dio tanta felicidad. Sin embargo, sé que el tiempo solo no es suficiente para ayudarlos a superar sus dificultades económicas.

Por eso he creado este GoFundMe para apoyar a Vista Adult Daycare y continuar su misión de cuidado, compañía y dignidad para nuestros adultos mayores. Cada contribución, sin importar el monto, ayudará a sostener los programas y al personal que brindan consuelo y propósito a tantas vidas.

Esta recaudación de fondos es un homenaje a la alegría de mi padre, su generosidad y la comunidad que se convirtió en su segundo hogar.

Soy Felipe S. Toro, hijo de Pedro Toro, y puedo dar fe de lo bien que trataron a mi papá en el Centro.

Se desvivieron por atender a mi papá, sin tratarlo nunca como a uno más de los adultos mayores, sino como a un verdadero ayudante. Mi papá era la estrella del centro.
