In memory of Pastor H. Lee Thompson, who faithfully served as a missionary in Brazil for 26 years, his family is seeking to honor his legacy by providing ministry funding for Pastor Marcos Ribeiro, a Brazilian pastor who was discipled and trained for ministry by Pastor Lee. Your contributions will enable their ministry to continue and help further the legacy of discipleship that Pastor Lee faithfully fulfilled in Marcos' life through the years, until his recent death. This legacy continues today as Pastor Marcos shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Brazil.

As a young 12-year-old boy, Marcos (Kiko) lived in the house next door to the Thompson family in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Through his curiosity in wanting to see how the Americans lived, Kiko tried to have a glimpse into the family home over the property wall. Pastor Lee, and the entire Thompson family, quickly became endeared to Kiko, and he became a part of their family. Through this relationship, Kiko learned about the salvation available to him through faith in Jesus Christ and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Kiko was discipled by Pastor Lee and eventually decided to attend Maranata Seminary to be trained to become a pastor. Pastor Lee continued to support Kiko, both spiritually and financially, throughout the years, even until Pastor Lee’s passing. As Pastor Marcos and his wife Marcia disciple those in their congregation and share the gospel with Brazilians in their community, they constantly struggle with funding needs, which is a significant challenge for pastors in third-world countries.
