My name is Sarah, and I’m reaching out during one of the most painful and difficult times our family has ever faced. My beloved grandmother was recently hospitalized in the Philippines for three weeks, battling severe health complications. Despite the hospital’s best efforts, she tragically passed away on June 28th, right after my cousin's wedding that she was supposed to be a part of.

Her passing has left a huge hole in our hearts, but even more devastating is that we are currently unable to claim her death certificate because her hospital bill remains unpaid. The total cost of her medical care came to ₱1.2 million pesos, which is approximately $20,000 USD. In the Philippines, hospitals often withhold documents like death certificates until the full balance is cleared.

It is now just my mother and I, and with my schooling, and my medical bills that we just paid off from my ovarian cystectomy last November, it has been difficult for us to find some extra money for my Grandma's medical expenses.

To make things even harder, my father passed away just 1.5 years ago, and we’re still emotionally and financially recovering from that loss. Now with my grandmother gone, we are overwhelmed.
