Honoring the Memory of Nick DeGroot

We are coming together as a community to remember and honor our dear friend, Nick DeGroot — a passionate runner, a dedicated community member, and a true friend to many. Nick’s love for running and his generous spirit touched all of us who had the privilege to know him. What a great young man... taken too soon!

In his memory, we are raising funds to place a commemorative bench — a lasting tribute where friends, family, and fellow runners can pause, reflect, and remember Nick on the Prairie Trail he loved to run on. The cost of the bench is $4,700, and every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to preserving Nick’s legacy in a meaningful way.
