Help Us Honor nangelemo Mali’s

Our beloved Mather we call her Mather because she raised us , but she is our grandmother nangelemo passed away recently, and we’re raising funds to help cover her funeral and burial expenses.

Born in congo in January 1-1945 nangelemo never had the chance to go to school.she couldn’t read or write, and hear well when she moved to the U.S. later in life, she didn’t speak English — but that never stopped her . She showed up to community classes with a smile, eager to learn, always trying. That was who she was: determined, joyful, and full of heart. She was a Methodist woman who loved to go to church and pray all time

she made the ultimate sacrifice by bringing our family to a new country — not knowing the language, the system, or what lay ahead — because she wanted she children to have every opportunity she never had. She gave everything so we could build a better future.

To many in our community, she was more than a grandmother the only person who was watching over us we lost both of our parents and my grandmother was the only one we have left she was a mentor, a safe place, a friend. She was “grandma “” to everyone — not just to her grandchildren, but to anyone who needed someone to care. Her home was open, her heart was generous, and her presence made people feel seen and safe.

On June June 13st, 2025, our mather suffered a major stroke and couldn’t walk on her feet she was hospitalized for over a month. Though she had lived with health challenges for many years, the stroke was devastating and marked the beginning of a long, painful decline. Since then, she’s been in and out of the hospital, enduring repeated complications with strength and grace. On June 17 th, she was rushed back to the hospital Her blood pressure was dangerously high, and she was battling a severe bacterial infection that had spread throughout her body. The doctors told us her heart could stop at any moment.

Despite every effort, her condition worsened. On July 15th, around 5:30 p.m., surrounded by family, she was taken off life support and passed away peacefully.

nange legacy lives on in the lives she touched — in her children, grandchildren, and the many who loved her deeply.

If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing. Every contribution brings us closer to giving her the farewell she truly deserves.

With heartfelt thanks,
The nangelemo mlasi Family
