Myla Ann Williams Wray (May 22, 1964 – September 9, 2025) was a devoted wife, friend, and community spirit whose life was rooted in compassion, creativity, and service. She lived most recently in Mesa, Arizona, but her influence reached far beyond her home. Throughout her life, Myla’s kindness, curiosity, and artistic soul touched everyone she met.
Myla believed deeply in education’s power to transform lives. She was passionate about both the health sciences and the arts, understanding that healing and creativity are essential to the human spirit. She encouraged others to pursue their dreams, offered a listening ear, and volunteered in various ways, both big and small.
Purpose of This Scholarship
In Myla’s honor, we are establishing the Myla Ann Williams Wray Memorial Scholarship to support college-bound students who:
- Are pursuing degrees in health sciences, the visual or performing arts
- Demonstrate a heartfelt desire to give back to their communities
This scholarship is meant to carry forward Myla’s belief: when we invest in others’ potential, we spread hope, care, and creativity.
Why It Matters
Myla believed healing and creativity are two sides of the same coin: both seek to bring light into darkness. By helping students in health sciences or visual arts—fields that heal, express, and uplift—this scholarship continues her legacy of compassion, giving, and creative spirit.
Thank you for joining us in honoring Myla's memory and investing in a brighter, more caring future.
With gratitude,
The Wray Family
P.S. — A Note About Fairness and Family Involvement
In keeping with Myla’s spirit of generosity and fairness, immediate family members of the Wray family and members of the selection committee (and their relatives) will not be eligible to receive this scholarship.
This practice ensures that every award is given openly and equitably to students whose goals and values reflect Myla’s legacy.
Her family will continue to honor her by helping guide, mentor, and celebrate the recipients who carry her light forward.
