Honor My Great-Grandfather’s WW1 Service with a Headstone

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ross, and I am raising funds to provide my late great-grandfather, Leslie Wiltshire Thomas, with the recognition of life that he deserves.

Leslie served in the 10th Light Horse Brigade during WW1, and his service to our country has largely gone unrecognized. Despite his incredible contributions, he was buried as a pauper in 1944 in an unmarked grave #483 in Darwin Garden Cemetery.

Why This Is Important:
Leslie was born on November 5, 1883, and served proudly in the military during a time when few had the honor of doing so. As a family, we believe it is crucial that his service to this country is acknowledged and celebrated. This is not just about honoring his memory, but also ensuring that future generations of our family can remember and appreciate the legacy of his bravery and commitment.

How The Funds Will Be Used:
The funds raised will go toward purchasing and installing a headstone engraved with his service emblem at his grave in Darwin Garden Cemetery. Additionally, we plan to have his service medals professionally framed and preserved for future generations of our family to cherish.
We want to ensure that Leslie's legacy is protected, so his memory and contributions live on for years to come.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to ensuring Leslie is honored in the way he deserves. Thank you for helping us preserve his memory and recognize his service.
