Dear friends and family,

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Midori is in the final stage of her battle with pancreatic cancer. After fighting with extraordinary strength and grace, she has returned home to spend her final days with her family.

Her time with us is now very limited, we are focused on ensuring she is as comfortable and supported as possible.

Midori is brave and bold and fiercely loyal to all those who know her. Her love for Andy and her son Adrian is beyond words. I frankly can’t imagine this world without her.

Midori and Andy have dedicated their lives to public education—Andy as a beloved teacher, and Midori as a compassionate school psychologist. She is the person you want in your corner, spending hours off the clock making sure every detail of a child's educational plan was carefully crafted to truly meet their needs. Her work was rooted in deep empathy and a fierce commitment to equity for all children.

Midori, Andy, and Adrian have always been a deeply connected unit—full of curiosity, care, and mutual devotion. Together they’ve explored the world, nurtured each other’s passions, and created a life centered on learning and love. Even in the weeks between chemotherapy treatments, Midori was reading books, studying languages, and finding new ways to engage her ever-curious mind.

Our hope is to give back to her by easing the financial burden on her loved ones as they focus on being present and saying goodbye.
