Michael Anthony Roybal is a father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, uncle, friend — someone to many. A hard-working businessman, people person, and lifelong sports fan, Michael always put everything into what he loved.
Although Michael dealt with health issues during the later years of his life, his sudden passing at the age of 64 weighs heavily on those who love him. Nothing and no one can prepare someone for this loss, and having to plan and pay for a funeral is the last thing someone grieving should have to think about.
Melissa is Michael’s only daughter, and she loves her dad beyond words and wants to be able to honor him as he deserves. As she mourns the loss of her father, we ask family and friends to please find it in your hearts to make a contribution to assist Melissa to cover the funeral costs. This isn’t an easy time for her and her family.
I've been friends with Melissa for 22 years and was lucky enough to witness the bond and love between Meliss and her dad. Michael did not have the chance to make his arrangements, and Melissa is now working to plan a memorial to honor the life of her father and the legacy he leaves.
He was charismatic, quick-witted, and funny. Always wanting to pick up a conversation with anyone he would meet, especially if it had anything to do with his USC Trojans! But above all else, he was the BEST dad to my friend Melissa. “Boo” was his everything! Anyone who knew Michael, knew that Melissa was the love of his life!
As far as I can rememeber; since elementary school when Meliss and I were friends, and longer, he’s always been there for her. From being at every sports game she played in, taking us to his work picnics, from high school and college graduations, to walking her down the aisle on her wedding day. He made sure to be the best dad he could.
Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated. Please keep Michael, Melissa and the family in your prayers.
