Honor Melissa Jubane with a Memorial Bench
Donation protected
On behalf of the Vancouver/ Portland plant purge and swap group and Melissa Jubane's family, we are putting together a fund to get a bench made in her memory at Melissa's favorite park, Amberglen Park where she loved to walk her dog. Melissa was not only a wonderful wife, daughter, friend, cousin, etc. She was a Nurse who dedicated her life to saving others and making sure others were cared for.
The loss of Melissa has shaken the local community, this is another way we can memorialize and give back to Melissa's family. This project has been approved by Melissa's loved ones and any additional money raised outside of bench cost will be given to the family.
Parks and Rec have been contacted and we are in the process of getting paperwork ready for this, $5600 was the estimated cost, however price may change upon it being ready, it as set at $5700 for a little bit of wiggle room in case needed. Overall Bench time could take up to 6 months. Progress will be updated and an announcement will be made when the bench is ready for the public.
Melissa's family has indicated they would like me to handle the funds for the bench as the family is currently navigating a lot at the moment. A check will be written to parks and rec and ANY additional funds will be publicly donated to the families fund run by Melissa's brother Maverick.
Melissa's cousin Marie is Co-funding this GoFundMe to have full transparency of funds and discussion. Her Brother Maverick ha also joined. This fund is SEPARATE than the fund created by Melissa's family for funeral and expense costs, If you have lost someone you understand the financial turmoil this can bring, that fund has surpassed its goal thanks to the amazing community.
Melissa's plant community wanted to give back, may she light the way for all her loved ones and may we plant flowers in her memory.
