Hello all, my name is Sarah Hoffman and I was one of Mattie Seidel's best friends. I am here today to ask for help so I can create a memorial garden in honor of my closest friend. Martha McEwan was a beautiful, intelligent, loving person that could create a lasting friendship with anyone she met. The amount of lives she touched and brightened during her 30 years on this earth will never cease to amaze me. I truly believe this amazing woman and mother deserves a special place to honor her. A place for her friends and family to go and be close with her. Where better than in her home town she loved so much.

I have found it hard for the past three years to not have a resting place for Mattie. A place I can go chat with her and feel close to her. I decided last year that I would try to create a memorial garden for her in Oak Ridge town park. I have gotten the project approved by the town and have met with multiple landscapers. That’s when I hit a snag in my endeavors, the cost of the project was overwhelming and I don’t want my dreams of this beautiful town park garden to be crushed. So I’m reaching out for help so that I can provide the community with a beautiful space filled with native plants for the animals and a spot for Mattie’s loved ones to visit her.
