With broken hearts, we share the tragic loss of our beloved Matthew Roseberry, who passed away at just 29 years old from fentanyl poisoning while residing in a sober living program. Matthew was fiercely dedicated to his journey of recovery, fighting to overcome addiction and reclaim his life. Devastatingly, someone brought drugs into the facility, targeting vulnerable individuals in recovery and leading to this unimaginable tragedy.

Matthew’s life was shaped by both love and hardship. After losing his father, Jim, several years ago, Matthew and his brother Adam were raised by their devoted single mother, Rachel, who lives with severe disabilities. Without a father figure, the brothers fell into a difficult crowd during their teenage years, turning to drugs as a way to cope. Heartbreakingly, Adam also lost his life to fentanyl poisoning a few years ago, leaving Matthew grappling with profound grief and depression while still searching for hope and healing.

Despite these challenges, Matthew’s spirit shone brightly. He was known for his extraordinary generosity, always giving what little he had to those in need and being the first to volunteer to help anyone, no matter the task. Whether it was lending a hand, offering a kind word, or sharing whatever he could, Matthew’s selflessness touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Rachel, who has been the family’s rock despite her own struggles; his sister Emily; and his sister Jennifer. As a family, we are reeling from the loss of both Matthew and Adam, and Rachel is unable to bear the financial burden of Matthew’s funeral expenses alone. We are reaching out to our community for support to cover the costs of a dignified funeral, burial, and related expenses, so we can honor Matthew’s generous spirit and give him the farewell he deserves.
