In Loving Memory of Marlon Morris (aka Mercury): A Life Ended Too Soon

It was with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we learned of the sudden passing of our beloved Marlon, a vibrant soul who was taken from us way too soon. Marlon was not just a friend or a loved one; he was the heartbeat of every room he entered, a larger-than-life presence that touched the lives of so many – far too many to even comprehend.

As a father, he was the world to his two beautiful daughters Sophia and Lyla. His love for them was immeasurable, and he devoted every moment of his life to their happiness. He was their rock, their protector, and their biggest cheerleader. His legacy will forever live on in their smiles and in the countless lessons he taught them—of kindness, resilience, and faith.

Marlon was also known to many as a gifted DJ, a man who could make any event unforgettable with his incredible energy and passion for music. Whether he was behind the turntables at a club or spinning tunes at a family gathering, he knew how to make everyone feel seen and celebrated. His infectious joy and unmatched talent made him a fixture in so many circles, and so many communities. A lifelong Met fan…a forever Terrier… a passionate fitness buff!

An alumnus of St. Francis Prep, Marlon maintained a lifelong connection to his alma mater, where his spirit and enthusiasm left a lasting mark on everyone he encountered. He was the epitome of the Franciscan spirit—always kind, always willing to help, and always being his unique “instrument of peace” to those around him. His generosity knew no bounds, and he gave of himself without hesitation, always putting others before himself.

As we mourn the loss of this incredible man, we also know that the pain his family is feeling is incomprehensible. In this time of grief, we are asking for your support to help ease the burden on his loved ones, particularly his two young daughters, who have lost the most important person in their lives. The goal is to set up a college fund for Sophia and Lyla so that their mother Rosa can feel a bit more secure in her ability to give them the opportunities both she and Marlon had planned for their girls.

No donation is too small, and every contribution will go a long way in honoring Marlon’s memory and ensuring that his daughters are supported as they carry forward the love, light, and joy he gave them.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the life of Marlon, a man whose impact will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in each of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

Marlon. You will always be loved. You will always be missed. You will forever be remembered!

“… For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” Prayer of St. Francis.
With love and gratitude.
