Hello,
We’re reaching out on behalf of our family with heavy hearts as we work to lay our Uncle Mark Sowers to rest.
Mark passed away unexpectedly at 64 years old. In his later years, he started to look a bit like Santa—with a soft beard and an even softer heart.
Uncle Mark was one-of-a-kind. He was kind, generous, and humble—especially as he got older. He had a great sense of humor, a forgiving spirit, and a fierce loyalty to the people he cared for, especially his family, which he valued deeply. We do find comfort knowing that he is now with his mom and brother.
Mark could be unpredictable—you never quite knew what he’d say or do next—but more often than not, he’d surprise you with his thoughtfulness. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back... though he might ask for it back later. His generosity was real, just uniquely his own.
He was stubborn and sweet all at once. While he wasn’t perfect, he’d be the first to admit that. What never changed was his willingness to help—he always showed up when someone needed him.
He loved being on the water—shrimping, crabbing, and soaking in the peace that came with it. On land, he raised chickens and found joy in watching deer come out of the woods in the evening.
We’re working hard to give him the proper goodbye he deserves, but we’re on a very tight timeline but that won't stop us from trying as he liked to say I'm stubborn just like him. If not more than him . If you’re able to donate, we’d be incredibly grateful. If not, sharing this means just as much.
Thank you for helping us honor the memory of someone who truly was unforgettable.
With love,
Amie & Melissa
