Our friend, Marie Aimone, known as "Miss Marie",  is marking her 31st year as director of Camp Burnt Gin (CBG), the camp for children with special health care needs located in Wedgefield, SC. In all that time, Marie has remained a model of consistency with the compassionate, caring leadership she provides for the counselors, staff, and campers who attend CBG. Her dedication to Burnt Gin, the counselors she’s hired, and the thousands of special needs campers who have been in her care has been remarkable.

Through the years, something that has always stood out to her friends is how selfless Marie is. She’s always looking to help others. Now it’s our chance to return the favor.

To recognize her 30+ years leading CBG, we would like to ask for people to make a donation in honor of Marie. We suggest $30 for 30. 30 dollars for her more than 30 years as CBG Director. Please consider making a meaningful contribution, no matter what amount.

The funds will be used to make needed repairs at her house. The first thing to be replaced will be the old front porch swing. Other things we could do, depending on the amount donated, would be to repair the collapsing back fence or the tool shed that may fall down any day. If enough funds remain after those things are taken care of, we can sod her small front yard and  perhaps even help add a small deck in her back yard.
