Help Support Luis' Funeral and His Grieving Mother

Hello everyone,

Our close-knit neighborhood in Emmaus is mourning the unexpected loss of a truly special young man, Luis. At just 24 years old, Luis had already shown immense courage and determination by using his life savings to travel from Venezuela to the United States, hoping to build a brighter future.

Luis was blessed to find a loving host family at the end of our cul-de-sac, where he quickly became a beloved big brother figure to the neighborhood children. His kindness, positivity, passion for life, and adventurous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

During his time here, Luis worked alongside his neighbor Russell in landscaping, showcasing an unparalleled work ethic and leadership that set an example for young men everywhere. More recently, he had begun working toward his dream of a career in healthcare at St. Luke’s Hospital, with the guidance of a supportive, local Venezuelan couple.

Tragically, after returning from a vacation to Hawaii, Luis fell ill and passed away unexpectedly.

A Mother’s Heartbreaking Loss

Luis’ devoted mother remains in Venezuela, unable to travel to the U.S. to say goodbye to her only child. She raised him alone with very little income, and the cost of funeral arrangements is a burden she simply cannot bear.

Luis’ host family is doing everything they can to coordinate funeral expenses while offering support to his grieving mother from afar. We are asking for any donations to help cover the funeral costs and, if possible, provide Luis’ mother with some financial relief so she can take time to mourn her son.
