Honor Lee Shaw: Support Student Scholarships
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brad. I am fundraising for a scholarship in memory of my Dad, Lee Shaw. In his honor, each year, we give away a scholarship to a worthy student or students from Pittsburg, NH. Over the past 9 years, we have helped 13 students pursue careers in pharmacy, nursing, computer science, environmental law, welding, biology, veterinary medicine, and other areas. We would be so touched if you could help us with this endeavor.
I believe one of the best ways out of poverty is through education.
This scholarship will be awarded to a Pittsburg High School graduate pursuing a university, college, or trade school education. The applicant may be a senior or prior high school graduate.
Lindley (Lee) Shaw resided in Windham, NH, but could frequently be found at the cabin he built near Second Connecticut Lake in Pittsburg. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, boating, canoeing and kayaking; but mostly he enjoyed the wilderness of Pittsburg. Lee was a third generation plumber working for Plumbers Union (Local #12) in Boston, MA. He also started his own plumbing business in Windham which he owned and operated for more than 30 years. Lee did some occasional plumbing work in Pittsburg and most notably installed the boilers in the Pittsburg Fire and Rescue building. Prior to becoming a plumber, Lee was an artist. Due to limited financial resources, he was not able to attend art school. Instead, Lee made sure that a college education was available for his own three children.
