Lawrence Hsin taught at Blair from 2003-2018 and made a huge impact on the students and staff during his tenure.  In May 2025, Lawrence was diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma that affected his liver and pancreas.  He passed on September 22, 2025.

We all remember so much about Lawrence as a friend, teacher, and loved one. Lawrence had a brilliant mind, with a set of passions that he shared with everyone. We all marveled at his encyclopedic knowledge of Miss Universe pageants, figure skating and gymnastics competitions, and extreme weather events. Lawrence was our resident snow day predictor and we are installing a weather station in his name at Blair.

Any funds donated beyond the cost of the weather station will be donated to the charities he wanted to support.
