Help Us Honor the Life of Lauren Chapin

On February 24, 2026, we said goodbye to a beloved actress, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lauren Chapin, best known as “Kathy” from the classic television series Father Knows Best, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 80 years old.

For millions of Americans, Lauren was part of their childhood — a familiar face who brought warmth, laughter, and heart into homes across the country during the golden age of television. But beyond the screen, she was a woman of deep faith, resilience, and compassion. Her life journey was one of triumphs, struggles, redemption, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

While Lauren’s work on the show brought joy to many, like many performers of her era she did not receive ongoing residual payments. As we plan a memorial worthy of her life and legacy, we are humbly asking for donations to help cover the costs.

We are starting this GoFundMe to make Lauren's wish a reality—to have her ashes placed at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. We will ensure that 100% of the funds raised will go to her daughter, Summer, to purchase the memorial and cover all related expenses. This will give fans, friends, and loved ones a place to visit, reflect, and remember Lauren.

Following a private Celebration of Life service, there will be an unveiling of Lauren’s final resting place at the historic Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Contributors to Lauren’s GoFundMe will receive a private invitation to attend the unveiling, where several of Lauren’s close celebrity friends from the entertainment community will join us in honoring the remarkable woman she was.
