We have lost a beloved friend and important member of the Oakland community. It is with heavy hearts that we say Kirin Rajagopalan unexpectedly passed away at home over the weekend.

Kirin was an incredible educator, community organizer, and neighbor. He was loved by everyone who had the privilege of being at his side, and we will always remember his patience, kindness, and tireless commitment to those around him. We are asking you to please contribute funds in his memory.

Evelyn, his surviving partner, will need financial support over the long term. She and Kirin were registered domestic partners, with shared legal responsibilities and debts, including a home and three pets whom they both loved and cared for. Evelyn will need some assurances of stability to begin the healing process and make new memories in the home she and Kirin created together.
