Honor Kenneth and Carolyn Combs with a Memorial Bench
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brian Combs. I grew up and work in the Chevy Chase neighborhood in upper NW DC. My parents are Kenneth and Carolyn Combs. In February of 2024 my mom passed away unexpectedly. Eleven months later my dad passed away. This last year has been rough for me and my family. My parents were married for 57 years and lived in the Chevy Chase neighborhood the same amount of time. My dad worked at Lafayette Elementary School for 35 years and my mom worked at the Presbyterian Church nursery school and later at Lord & Taylor. In their retired years they enjoyed the simpler things in life like relaxing on a neighborhood bench enjoying the weather and people watching. I decided I wanted to find a way to honor them and make sure they’re remembered. I’m planning on buying a bench with a plaque dedicated to their memory. It will be installed on Connecticut Ave in front of the Avalon movie theater. I’m trying to raise the funds to make this a reality. With the contribution's of friends and neighbors I believe we can help make their memory live on. Thank you for all of your support.
