Julian Omar Smith

July 27, 1983 – October 1, 2025

Known by many names—Julian, Omar, Odie, Juju—Julian Omar Smith Sr. was a man who left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He had a gift for bringing people together and made it his mission to help others, always striving to make their wishes come true. A bright and active presence in the Hudson community, Julian carried his light wherever he went.

He worked tirelessly to build a meaningful life and was a devoted family man in every sense. His sudden passing has left an unimaginable void in the lives of those who loved him. It was deeply important to Julian that he be at rest with his mother, Carolyn J. Smith, who also passed away too soon.

We are hoping to raise enough funds to fulfill that wish by burying Julian’s ashes alongside his mother, with a shared headstone to honor their bond. This memorial will give both of them the peace they deserve and offer their family and friends a place to reflect, remember, and begin to heal.

Calling hours and funeral services will be Friday October 10, 2025 from 11-1 PM at the Sacco Funeral Home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson. Funeral prayers will begin at 1PM at the funeral home. The viewing is private. The family will lay Julian to rest with his mother privately. Celebration of Life to follow at The Sugar Hill Estate, 46 Broad St., Kinderhook, NY.
