My dad, Jose Luis Garcia, was born in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1951 and came to the United States at just 4 years old. His childhood was filled with challenges, but he faced them with strength and resilience. At only 14, he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and growing up, he endured a difficult home life. Despite this, he learned to survive and provide for himself from a young age.
He shined shoes, sold newspapers, ushered at movie theaters, picked berries to help his mother and sisters make pies to sell, and worked with his grandfather in a leather factory. Even though he never finished school, he carried an incredible work ethic and determination throughout his life.
Recently, our family received the heartbreaking news that my dad, Jose Luis Garcia, has been given only about six months or less to live. We want to make sure that when his time comes, we are able to honor him properly and give him the funeral service he deserves. Planning ahead is not easy, but it allows us to focus on spending his remaining time together without the overwhelming stress of financial strain later.
Jose will also be reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Linda Dolores, who has been waiting with open arms to welcome him when it is his time to begin a new life in heaven. Knowing this gives our family comfort as we prepare for the days ahead.
We are humbly asking for your support to help us prepare for the costs of his funeral and related expenses. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help lift a tremendous burden and allow us to celebrate his life with dignity.
We also invite family and friends to share any stories, photos, or memories of Jose Luis Garcia here. Your kind words and memories will bring comfort to our family and help us honor the legacy of a man who touched so many lives.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity, prayers, and love during this difficult time.
Love,
Audrey and the family
