It is with the heaviest heart that we share the passing of Johnny Earl Bradford, a loving father, grandfather, husband, and proud Army veteran of the 101st Airborne Division. On May 26th, 2025, he left us at the age of 78, surrounded by love in spirit, even if not all of us could be there in person.

Johnny wasn’t just the oldest of the Bradford boys; he was the rock of our family. A man of grit, heart, and unwavering loyalty, he lived a life of service and sacrifice, both in uniform and at home. As a machinist, he worked hard with his hands; as a grandfather, he gave even more with his heart.

To me, he wasn’t just “Grandpa.” He was a protector, someone who helped raise me, shape who I am, and loved me unconditionally. I’ll miss sitting at the barn listening to his war stories, sipping sugar-free Mountain Dew while bluegrass music played. I’ll miss our tailgate chicken dinners, picking peppers from his garden, and hearing him say, “I love you.”

Our family is now navigating not only the pain of his loss but also the unexpected finances that come with laying him to rest. We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover funeral and burial expenses and give Johnny the service he so deeply deserves. One that reflects the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.
