It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Joseph T. Moore—affectionately known as Joe, “Chubby,” and most dearly, “Man”—on August 2, 2025, at the age of 48 due to a sudden heart attack.
Joe was a devoted father, a proud public servant, and a loyal friend to many. His greatest joy in life was being a father to his beloved son, Isaiah. To know Joe was to know his deep love for his family, his fierce work ethic, and his quiet strength.
He served honorably as a Homeland Security agent with U.S. Customs, where he was widely respected for his leadership, skill, and integrity. Later in his career, Joe became a highly regarded professor of criminology, mentoring and inspiring future generations. His impact on his students, colleagues, and community was profound.
We are raising funds to support funeral expenses and help the family navigate this heartbreaking time. In honor of Joe’s lifelong commitment to education and service, a scholarship foundation is also being established in his name to carry on his legacy.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity as we celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.
With love and gratitude,
The Family of Joseph Moore
